German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has blocked a €3 billion military aid package for Ukraine. The package, which included critical IRIS-T air defense systems, anti-aircraft missiles, howitzers, and ammunition, had been prepared by Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. Despite this decision, Germany plans to allocate approximately €4 billion in aid for Ukraine in 2025. The IRIS-T systems, known for their advanced capabilities in air defense, had already proven crucial to Ukraine's defense, with seven systems currently in use.
